Historic Preservation in Savannah
Savannah is recognized as the first planned city of the United States. It is termed as a Historic city and has been founded in 1733 A.D. Considering such a strong historic relevance to this city, very few attempts are visibly made to conserve and protect the physical and cultural significance.
A major section of the economy in Savannah sustains on the tourism industry. However, there is a high crime rate and neglect towards fine education amongst the locals. We wanted to figure out the reasons behind the lack of historic preservation attempts by the locals by diving deeper into ethnographic and contectual research.
